In the market, we are counted among the leading company involved in providing RoHS Testing Services. These ROHS Testing Services are extensively demanded among the customers and widely used in electrical and electronic equipment and to reduce flammability will also require special analytical processes.
ROHS TESTING SERVICES
ELV Testing Services
The Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment 2002/95/EC commonly referred to as the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive or RoHS. This directive restricts the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment. It is closely linked with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE).
RoHS is often referred to as the lead-free directive, but it restricts the use of the following six substances:
• Lead (Pb)
• Mercury (Hg)
• Cadmium (Cd)
• Hexavalent chromium (Cr+6 )
• Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
• Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE)
Test procedure of ROHS at MTL:
RoHS Regulation (Directive 2002/95/EC), restricts the manufacturers or importers of electrical and electronic equipment to use six banned substances: lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr+6 ) Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB) and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE), exceeding certain permissible concentrations. The permissible concentrations are Pb (< 1000 ppm), Cd (<100 ppm), Cr 6 (< 1000 ppm), Hg (< 1000 ppm), PBB (< 1000 ppm) and PBDE (< 1000 ppm) by mass in any “homogenous substance”.
The testing is strictly carried out following IEC 62321 procedures. For this purpose a chemical laboratory with all necessary equipment for the extraction of metals, PBB and PBDE in to liquid have been established. Using RoHS facility, internationally acceptable analytical data with well defined, precision, accuracy, error limits standard deviation and uncertainty were generated.
All the industries both exporting and catering to the domestic Indian market are requested to make use of the expertise and facilities available at MTL, charges will be very competitive and minimum. This will also paves a way for good manufacturing practices, by reducing the hazardous substances in their products, which affects the clean environment.
